The hunt for Janáček’s treasure, Musical siesta, Behind the curtain with Her Stepdaughter, cake cutting, Janáček’s summer cinema, a congratulatory happening, and many other amazing moments were part of the all-day program at the piazzetta of the Janáček Theater. The National Moravian-Silesian Theatre (NdM) premiered “The Cunning Little Vixen” on June 6, 2024! Janáček’s opera returns to the Ostrava stage after 30 years, joining the celebrations of its 100th anniversary.
Antonín Dvořák’s timeless Rusalka, directed by David Radok and conducted by Marko Ivanović, has just premiered. It took place on 5 April at the Janáček Theatre in Brno. This time, however, it was not a fairy tale, but a fateful drama about human failure, unfulfilled desires and the conflict between love and erotic desire.

On 6 March 2024, the Radiocafé of Czech Radio hosted a shared press conference on the festivals Janáček Brno and Theatre World Brno. Speaking to journalists on behalf of the festival Janáček Brno were the director of the National Theatre Brno Martin Glaser, the artistic director of the Janáček Opera Jiří Heřman, the dramaturg of the festival concert series Jiří Zahrádka and opera singers Kateřina Kněžíková and Adam Plachetka.

On Saturday, 4 November 2023, a concert of the Janáček Opera Orchestra of the National Theatre in Brno “Janáček to the Start!” took place at the Mahen Theatre in Brno. As part of the opening ceremony, a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and the National Theatre in Brno was signed.
On 4 November 2023 we will be treated to a concert by the Janáček Opera of the National Theatre Brno under the direction of conductor Robert Kružík and with rare guests, violinist Josef Špaček, soprano Kateřina Kněžíková and baritone Svatopluk Sem.
