Paintings by Natalie Perkof and Vendula Chalánková are to take up residence at Villa Löw-Beer in October
You can visit two openings at the villa at Drobného 22 in the second half of October. The exhibition of
paintings by Natalie Perkof entitled Who’s Gonna Wear the Pants is to be opened in the staircase
hall at the villa at 6 p.m. on October 17. In her work, the artist reflects on her own life and society,
examines ingrained stereotypes, and reveals the possibilities of technical textiles in art and design.
The opening of Vendula Chalánková’s exhibition The Cunning Little Vixen is to take place at 5 p.m.
on 29 October as an event accompanying the Janáček Brno International Music Festival. This year,
Janáček’s opera The Cunning Little Vixen is celebrating the 100 th anniversary of its world premiere.
Vendula Chalánková’s original paper collages created as illustrations for the publishing house Host,
which published Těsnohlídek’s The Cunning Little Vixen in 2020, are to be exhibited on the ground
floor of Villa Löw-Beer. Tereza Merklová Kyzlinková and the Brno Children’s Choir will be singing a
piece from the opera The Cunning Little Vixen at the opening.
In October, we will also be saying goodbye to the exhibition First in the Country. Moravian
Governors and Presidents on the Threshold of the Modern Age with a series of special lectures.
Vladimír Černý will be introducing Jaroslav Mezník, the last Moravian Provincial President, on 2

Balík will be speaking about the Moravian Governor Karel Emanuel of Žerotín on 22 October. All
these lectures begin at 5.30 p.m.
October at the villa is to come to a close with the event HUSH: Silent Film Nights with the cinema
