The National Moravian-Silesian Theatre (NdM) premiered “The Cunning Little Vixen” on June 6, 2024! Janáček’s opera returns to the Ostrava stage after 30 years, joining the celebrations of its 100th anniversary.

NdM entrusted the direction of the opera to one of the most respected and acclaimed choreographers of today, Itzik Galili. In this production, the ballet component plays a significant role – dance adds dynamism to the performance, enriches the characters, and presents the story of the Cunning Little Vixen to the audience on a completely new level. The unique rendition of the opera is complemented by costumes designed by Simona Rybáková and a minimalist set by Daniel Dvořák, capturing natural scenes and the play of light. The outstanding musical performances by the soloists, members of the Opera Studio, the choir, and the NdM orchestra under the baton of Marek Šedivý did not lag behind either. After three decades, the Cunning Little Vixen returns to the Ostrava stage, grandly, in a performance full of dance, music, and colors.

As part of the festival Janáček Brno, the performance will take place on November 10, 2024, at 7 PM in the Mahen Theatre.
